Strategic Research Area
How information technology can contribute to resolve the issues that society will face in near future? In 21st-century that knowledge will have greater value than ever before, information technology is expected to find new roles to play in resolving "future issues". The Integrated Research Institute has therefore inaugurated the Social Brain Forum (SBF) as a resource for integrating knowledge from industry, NPOs, government agencies, and other such bodies inside and outside the university. SBF institutes research groups with themes suited to solutions research, and will generate solutions research projects intended to resolve societal and industry issues by making use of information technology and knowledge technology.
